Your body needs regular fuel in order to balance blood sugar levels and to maintain metabolism. Hunger is a sign of low blood sugar which can lead to poor food choices and over eating. Always have healthy snacks handy!
this may dilute digestive enzymes. To aid digestion, drink a large glass of water 30 minutes before a meal.
Relax before a meal if you feel stressed. Eat home cooked meals whenever possible. Touching, tasting and smelling starts the digestion process and can prevent over eating. Stop eating before you are full, giving the brain time to receive the signal which can take about 20 minutes.
Fruit and vegetables contain enzymes that aid digestion and these can be killed off during cooking, so aim to eat some raw with every meal. Lightly steaming vegetables is also preferable to boiling.
Food should be prepared and eaten with joy! A balanced healthy diet does not have to be boring, bland, time consuming or expensive. Good habits can be established with a little effort and a positive frame of mind!
